Course towards spiritual independence of Ukraine: Zelensky discussed with the Council of Churches the ban of the UOC-MP

President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that he had a conversation with members of the Council of Churches and Religious Organizations and discussed the ban on the UOC MP.

The head of state also reported in his evening address on August 16 on several reports by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Sirsky on the situation at the front and the operation in Kursk region.

Zelensky on the situation at the front

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky reported to the president on the frontline situation and our operation in the Kursk region.

— We see that the occupier is suffering losses, and this is useful, very useful for our defense. This concerns the destruction of the logistics of the Russian army and the expenditure of their reserves. We must inflict maximum defeat on all Russian positions and we are doing this, — said the president.

Zelensky heard Syrsky's report on our defensive steps in the Donbass: the Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions. As well as our movement in the Kursk region. The head of state added that Ukrainian forces are removing the Russian military presence there and replenishing the exchange fund.

The president also reported that new ambassadors from partner states have arrived to work in Ukraine: Belgium, India, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Italy, and Mexico. Zelensky accepted their credentials and thanked them for supporting Ukraine's territorial integrity and international law.

The head of state reported on holding meetings on further work to bring peace to Ukraine, a just peace, and to protect our people.
