The Global Peace Summit was held in Switzerland on June 15–16. There, 39 participating countries discussed the return of Ukrainians kidnapped by Russia, as well as nuclear and food security. At the summit there were also pro-Russian countries that offered their assistance to Ukraine.

Countries loyal to Russia offered their channels of communication with it. The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets spoke about this during the telethon, reports 24 Channel.

Pro-Russian countries want to help free Ukrainians

At the Peace Summit, countries that are considered pro-Russian expressed their true opinion regarding Russia's actions. In particular, they presented their work on the issue of the return of Ukrainians from Russian captivity – children, civilians and military. This was facilitated by the closed format of the meeting.

Lubinets did not specify which countries he was talking about.

Unexpectedly, some countries that traditionally have good relations with Russia announced for the first time that they are ready to offer their channels of communication with the Russian side. I cannot yet name these countries, but I will say frankly that we did not expect such positions from such countries,” he said.

The Commissioner for Human Rights also added, that at the meeting it was possible to discuss the development of new approaches that could help free Ukrainian citizens from Russian captivity.

What are the results of the Peace Summit

• As a result of the Global Peace Summit, 78 countries signed a joint communiqué. However, even after this, the resolution is open and other countries can join it.
• At the summit, the participating countries supported the three main points of the Ukrainian peace formula. We are talking about nuclear security, food security, the exchange of prisoners of war in the “all for all” format and the return of children, as well as civilians, to Ukraine.
• President of Ukraine Zelensky at the summit announced readiness for negotiations with Russia. But for this, the Kremlin must respect the territorial integrity of our state. He added that the results of the Peace Summit would later be passed on to Russia for information. , but they didn’t come, for example, with China.” At the first stage, these states offered their support, but then, seeing that Russia would not be at the summit, they refused.
