Russia is preparing to launch anti-satellite weapons into orbit. This is probably due to the Starlink satellites, which, even at the beginning of a full-scale war, helped slow down the invasion of the aggressor country into Ukraine.

In this case, the use of nuclear weapons in space could theoretically be a way out of the situation for Russia. Nevertheless, Russian troops have repeatedly tried to block Ukraine’s access to Starlink.

However, analysts are convinced that the enemy has not been successful in this. The reason is that the structure of Elon Musk's satellites and their location is relatively closer to Earth than other satellites.

The material notes that this makes it difficult to neutralize the system using conventional weapons launched from Earth.

We are talking about anti-space aviation, which is supposedly the only reliable way to get rid of Starlink and other similar systems in future conflicts.

In particular, experts are concerned that the effect of the use anti-satellite weapons would extend far beyond the battlefield in Ukraine and have dire economic consequences for the entire world.

Some national security insiders fear that Putin might take such a drastic move if it ends up facing a certain defeat in Ukraine or otherwise feels squeezed by the West.

The danger is not limited to Russia, however. Experts warn that China is also eyeing anti-satellite weapons as part of a much broader strategic plan.

For example, Beijing could see a major attack in space as a way to neutralize its enemies before a full-scale ground invasion of Taiwan.
