Could change the “rules of the game”: how the resignation of the Estonian government will affect support for Ukraine Angela Figin

The Estonian government, led by Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, resigned on July 15. She was approved for the post of High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

On air 24 Channels political scientist, executive director of the International Association of Small Communities Alexey Buryachenko said what these changes will mean for Ukraine.

What positive changes await Ukraine

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy is one of the four highest positions in the European Union. Such a powerful decision recognizes the effective work of Kallas as Prime Minister of Estonia.

I think that the relationship between Ukraine and Estonia will improve while we we will get more powerful positions at the level of the European Union,” Buryachenko noted.

According to him, Callas is determined to help Ukraine in the fight for its own independence, so for us this a serious guarantee that at the diplomatic international level the European Union will continue rapprochement with Ukraine.

In particular, the former Prime Minister of Estonia stated that Ukraine will be able to win the war if all NATO countries will allocate 0.25% of their GDP to aid.

She was also the first European politician to propose a complete embargo on the export and import of goods from and to Russia.< /p>

Given the new political opportunities, Callas can lobby at the highest European level for the implementation of his initiative, the political scientist added.

In his opinion, this is truly something that can change the rules of the game and force Russia to accept the terms of its surrender.
