“Cotton” repeats itself: what are the consequences of the strikes on factories in Astrakhan and Volgograd? Anzhelika Galesevich

On the night of February 3, Ukrainian drones attacked the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant and the Volgograd Oil Refinery. The destruction of these facilities demonstrates Ukraine's technical capability to strike at remote targets.

Most often, gas processing plants, factories and arsenals where fuel is stored, which is the lifeblood of the army, come under attack. Without it, as military expert Vladislav Seleznev explained to Channel 24, equipment stops. The enemy is experiencing a shortage of this component, which affects the dynamics at the front.

What are the consequences of the strike on the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant and the Volgograd Oil Refinery

Ukrainian drones have already hit at least 30 critical energy infrastructure facilities in Russia, including gas processing plants, arsenals, and fuel storage bases.

As the military expert noted, fuel is the lifeblood of the army. Without diesel fuel, armored vehicles, particularly tanks, stop. The enemy begins to experience a certain shortage of this component, which affects the dynamics on the battlefield.

The destruction of facilities in Volgograd and Astrakhan is not accidental. This indicates that the Ukrainian Defense Forces have the technical capability to hit such objects, even at a considerable distance.

We have such a capability, and this is actually very good news, – Vladislav Seleznev emphasized.

What actions will the Russians be forced to resort to

He also noted that the Russian army is experiencing a certain weakness due to the loss of some resources. However, the war will not stop because of these defeats, because the Russians have other energy infrastructure facilities from which they can supply various types of fuel for various equipment, such as aviation.

At the same time, the enemy is forced to restructure its logistics so as not to reduce the volume of supplies, which creates an additional burden.

The more losses the Russian army suffers, the easier it will be for our soldiers on the battlefield, the military expert emphasized.

The Rubezh brigade also confirmed that attacks on Russian territory somewhat ease the situation at the front, since they help distract the attention of Russian aviation, which drops KABs on their positions.
