Corruption at the Odessa port plant: ex-deputy Granovsky was informed of suspicion

How the criminal scheme worked

According to the investigation, the people's deputy of the eighth convocation organized the scheme. It consisted in the fact that the Odessa portside plant sold mineral fertilizers to the enterprise below market prices. Subsequently, the company resold the goods to foreigners from the real sector of the economy at competitive prices. The actual deliveries were provided by the Odessa Port Plant.

The scheme operated during March-December 2015, because of it, the HMO lost income of approximately UAH 93.3 million. The law enforcers reported the suspicion to four participants in the scheme:

  • the trustee of the ex-people's deputy;
  • deputy director of the OPP;
  • head of the OPP department;< /li>
  • to the owner of the company participating in the corruption scheme.

Attackers are being sought

Currently, law enforcement officers are looking for a confidant of the exnardeep and the owner of the company participating in the scheme. As for the organizer of the Granovsky scheme, it is not known where he is. However, suspicion was announced to the deputy.

The investigation is taking all necessary measures to prosecute all participants in the corruption scheme, NABU added.

  • Alexander Granovsky was a member of the BPP in 2014, but left the party in 2019.
  • The deputy fled abroad – he received a visa to move to Israel.
  • Also, in 2019, information appeared that Interpol was looking for Granovsky. This is done at the request of Israeli law enforcement officers. The deputy was suspected of forging documents, money laundering and fraud.
  • In addition, in 2019, the DBR launched an investigation against the ex-people's deputy Granovsky due to obstructing the election of the Servant of the People candidate Oleksandr Kunitsky as a people's deputy in Kharkiv.
  • Granovsky's business partner sent a record number of cigarettes to Hungary in 2021.
