Construction of a European railway will begin in Ukraine, – Shmyhal/Office of the President
Ukraine continues to establish all possible ties with Europe. Soon our cooperation will also affect the railway communication.
Prime Minister Denys Shmihal spoke about Ukraine's further steps in cooperation with the European Union. Our state is preparing to introduce many updates.
European Railway in Ukraine
According to Denis Shmyhal, Ukraine does not need much time to integrate into European society. Our country has proved that it is ready to take all the necessary steps in the shortest possible time.
In particular, Ukraine has already joined the European energy system and is actively exporting its energy. According to preliminary plans, this should have been done only by 2023, but well-coordinated work made it possible to do this as quickly as possible.
Now Ukraine and the EU are actively working to simplify customs procedures, open new checkpoints, etc.
In addition, Ukraine will begin a stage-by-stage construction of a European track to connect our railway with the European one. At first, it will be a connection of large hubs and large cities, and then a gradual expansion throughout the country,” Shmyhal said.
He added that Ukraine is ready to move quickly towards all goals for the earliest possible accession to the European Union.
Ukraine's accession to the EU: a brief summary of the latest news- Already in June, the European Commission should provide its opinion on Ukraine. According to preliminary forecasts, Ukraine will receive the status of an EU candidate, although we insist on an early entry into the European Union.
- Some European politicians “distinguished themselves” by statements that it will take Ukraine more than 10 years to join the EU. Such statements were made by the diplomats of France and the Netherlands.
- French President Emmanuel Macron launched an initiative to create a new “European Commonwealth”. He plans to include the UK and countries wishing to join the EU. Thus, he is going to give these countries the opportunity to use the political rules of the EU, but not be part of the Union.
