Russian propaganda has recently changed its rhetoric more and more. This is tangibly correlated with how the aggressor fails at the front.
Russian opposition journalist Igor Yakovenko spoke about the change in the rhetoric of Russian propaganda in the stream of Channel 24 . He considers the “television general” Andrei Gurulev to be an indicator of a change in rhetoric.
From “destroy NATO” to “we cannot fight NATO”
The interlocutor notes that this general was previously “a constant supplier of quotes.” He called for the destruction of the United States, “digging a canal” between Canada and Mexico, and killing Zelensky.
But his latest statements are already that Russia cannot fight NATO, because the balance of power is very seriously not in favor of Moscow. Now, according to him, the main task is to end the war and focus on establishing order in Russia,” says Igor Yakovenko.
Ironically, he notes that General Gurulev actually proposes to strike at Voronezh, destroy the opposition and establish a tough fascist regime in Russia.
“They are already mentally prepared for defeat. Several pro-Putin films have appeared on YouTube that prepare them mentally for defeat. After all, a year has passed, and nothing is working,” the opposition journalist explains.
According to him, the Kremlin pinned all its hopes on Bakhmut, but nothing succeeded there either. Therefore, the awareness of defeat is increasingly penetrating the heads of the Russians, and they are preparing for fallback options.

Russians want to sell defeat
The interlocutor also admits that the Putin regime can even survive after the total defeat in Ukraine. Therefore, the Kremlin is considering a version of how to keep the regime in this case.

He also noted that in the imagination of the Kremlin, Ukraine is a country inhabited by fools. Like, they really believe and try to convince the population that Ukraine can agree to give Russia some part of its territory and forget all its crimes.
