Vladimir Putin seeks to change the situation in the war in his favor by any means. One of the possible methods to achieve this goal is to undermine the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.
There is no doubt that in the current situation the Russian dictator can reach the limit. This was announced on Channel 24 by a political expert, head of the New Road Charitable Foundation Valery Klochok.
Russia may blow up the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station
Blowing up the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station will not be equated with the use of nuclear weapons, which is a violation of international conventions. However, the consequences will be even worse than the use of tactical nuclear weapons.

Consequently, Russia can definitely resort to this undermining. Moreover, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense reports that the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station was mined back in April – shortly after the occupation.
“That is, all the facts for me are as follows. The only point that is worth mentioning is that now there are many Russian articles saying that this, they say, is not beneficial for Russia. In particular, that Crimea will not receive water. This is a lie, because Crimea has experience of a long existence without fresh water from Ukraine,” the expert notes.
Consequently, he is convinced that for Putin and Russia as a whole there is no question of the threat due to the non-delivery of water to Crimea. Putin's main goal in this is to inflict as much damage on Ukraine as possible.
Especially considering that they are now resorting to the destruction of infrastructure facilities in Ukraine. In particular, in the East and South – to the destruction of dams. They do this all the time,” emphasizes Klochok.
Putin is not going to stay in Ukraine
The interlocutor is convinced that Vladimir Putin is not going to stay in Ukraine, realizing that he has finally lost here. Therefore, he only wants to inflict maximum damage on Ukraine.
Even now, on TV channels in Russia, deputies say that it is necessary to destroy power plants, destroy thermal power plants so that people freeze and starve. They produce it, they understand that they cannot win, but they want to cause more harm, – said Valery Klochok.
He is convinced that, in particular, the Russians are not going to stay in the Kherson region. After all, under the pressure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it is already obvious even to them that they will not be able to be there.
Russia replaced the Kakhovskaya HPP:
- President Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky warned about mining and the threat of undermining the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station even earlier. As a result, part of Kherson may be flooded, and the Zaporozhye NPP will be left without water.
- NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov assured that Ukraine is ready for any scenario for a hydroelectric power plant. Although the consequences of the explosion could be catastrophic.
