< p _ngcontent-sc148="" class="news-annotation">Ukraine will receive the first light tanks from France. They will help the Ukrainian military better overcome impassability and advance further on the front line.
About this on air Channel 24said military expert Alexei Getman. However, better conditions are needed for heavy vehicles.
Light tanks will clear the way for heavy vehicles
“The main thing is that in the place where we advanced, roads should be paved, on which heavy equipment can drive. Then we can bring up tanks, the rear – anything to equip our positions for a further offensive,” Hetman emphasized.

Earlier, Aleksey Getman explained that light tanks are effective for local battles. They can move the enemy in the field for 5 – 10 kilometers. But it is important to immediately pull up resources so as not to allow the territory to be recaptured.
Will 14 Leopard tanks from Germany be enough
The expert also noted that 14 Leopard tanks, which Germany is ready to provide to Ukraine in the first week of March, are not enough for a front of 1,200 kilometers. However, in some areas Ukrainian defenders will be able to make more powerful moves.
It's good that A6, not A4. There, the frontal armor on the A6 turret is built differently, and it is more resistant to hits by those anti-tank weapons that are in Russia,” Aleksey Getman emphasized.
