President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, by his decree, dismissed Alexander Yakovets from the post of commander of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This is stated in the decree of the head of state No. 244/2024.
— Dismiss Alexander Vasilyevich Yakovets from the post of commander of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, — specified in the decree.
Yakovets was appointed to the position of head of the administration of the State Special Transport Service. This appointment is stated in another presidential decree No. 246/2024.

At the same time, Major General Bogdan Bondar, who held this position, will be placed at the disposal of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine and will perform duties for coordinating activities and monitoring the development of fortifications.
What is known about Alexander Yakovets
Brigadier General Alexander Yakovets was born in 1972 in the Vinnytsia region.
Graduated from the Kamenets-Podolsk Higher Military Engineering Command School, the National Defense Academy and the National Defense University of Ukraine.
Began his service career in the Armed Forces of Ukraine on August 1, 1989. He held various command and staff positions, including commander of an engineer platoon, commander of an engineer battalion, deputy commander for weapons, chief of engineering services and others.
From 2020 to 2024 he was the head of the engineering troops — Head of the Engineering Troops Directorate of the Armed Forces Support Forces Command. Since March 2024, he served as commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
