A former official of the Southern Territorial Housing and Maintenance Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was exposed for embezzling almost 1 million UAH during the construction of a military facility.
Fraudation with army funds: what is known about the case
According to the State Bureau of Investigation, an official of the Ministry of Defense entered into an agreement with a private enterprise for the construction of a water pipeline for one of the armed formations in the region for almost 1 million UAH.
However, the construction remained on paper, and the colonel and the businessman divided the funds allocated from the state budget among themselves.

A former official was informed of suspicion of negligent attitude towards military service (Part 3 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code). He faces imprisonment for up to 7 years.
The businessman, whose company was supposed to build a water supply system, is accused of abuse and forgery (part 2 of article 364-1, part 2 of article 366 of the Criminal Code).
The investigation continues, other possible facts of illegal activity are being established.
The other day, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported on a large-scale special operation, in which 70 searches were carried out and 30 suspicions were reported to employees throughout Ukraine, who in total stole 138 million UAH allocated for the needs of the army.
Employees of apartment maintenance departments together with representatives of commercial structures in almost all regions of Ukraine were involved in the theft of funds.
