These mock-ups are used to create false positions and mislead the enemy into wasting expensive ammunition and drones on wooden structures.
False howitzer positions are the best passive defense, saving real equipment and the lives of Ukrainian artillerymen.

Reaktivnaya Pochta has been specializing in supporting missile forces and artillery since 2014, providing repairs, equipment and protection.
— We prefer high-quality wooden models, since they can withstand more hits and are subject to some restoration, that is, they last longer, destroy more drones, and burn more enemy money. The average number of hits per model is 5-7. But there is a record — the model Tolya , which currently has more than 15 hits. And Tolya is not going to retire, — said Pavel Narozhny, co-founder of the charitable organization Reaktivnaya Pochta.

M777 Howitzers: How Mock-Ups Can Help Hide Artillery
Artillery is an all-weather weapon that accurately hits the enemy in fog, snow, rain and does not depend on free frequencies.
The American-British M777 howitzer has received the unofficial title of the most effective weapon in the Russian-Ukrainian war among the military.
Respected by the military for its accuracy, effectiveness in destruction and ease of maintenance, the M777 is a towed, lightweight, long-range 155mm howitzer.

It is lightweight, has folding elements, allows you to quickly change position, transport the gun by trucks, tractors or even helicopters. Few people know, but it can be folded like an umbrella and easily hidden in a caponier after completing a fire mission.
The enemy actively hunts for weapons that are easy to aim, shoot accurately at a distance and can withstand a load of 150 shots per day. Models are not the latest invention, but a rather ancient art of misleading the enemy.
Mock-ups of the M777 howitzer are installed to simulate artillery positions in order to distract enemy reconnaissance and kamikaze drones from real weapons and personnel.
What is the model: a full-size, detailed wooden replica of a howitzer with real wheels and some other realistic details. Everything is designed so that even high-quality optics of an enemy drone will still perceive the model as a real howitzer.
The design of the model is thought out in such a way that its assembly and installation in position takes no more than 30 minutes. Time at the front is a risk, so the speed and quality of assembly of the models were honed in detail.
Some models are damaged immediately, but most can be restored, remaining to work on the destruction of enemy budgets and ammunition.
Models save lives: real guns remain intact and soldiers remain unharmed.
