Former Ukrainian sumo wrestler Olga Davydko has been charged with complicity with Russia.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol reported this on its page on the social network Facebook.
After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the suspect organized a “volunteer movement” in the temporarily occupied Crimea and helped the enemy.

As a public figure, Davydko has repeatedly appeared in propaganda media, supporting the war against Ukraine, and regularly published messages on social networks about meetings and calls to help the occupiers.
The prosecutor's office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea informed her of suspicion of aiding the aggressor state under Part 1 of Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. She faces up to 12 years in prison.
What is known about Olga Davydko?
She was born in Crimea. She is 37 years old. She got into sumo by accident, after the president of the Ukrainian Sumo Federation Sergei Korobko noticed her at the station and invited her to try her hand at sumo.
She is a multiple medalist and champion of Europe and the world, as well as the first sumo world champion in the history of Ukraine. In August 2016, Davydko accepted Russian citizenship and announced that she was finishing her performances for the Ukrainian sumo team.
After banning athletes from the aggressor country from participating in international competitions, she stated that she “put her career on pause.”
