“Coalition of Evil” from 3 countries: who else can become Russia's partner

White House spokesman John Kirby said that Russia attacked Ukraine with ballistic missiles received from the DPRK. The day before, information also appeared that Iran could transfer new ballistic missiles to Russia.

The United States is concerned about Russia’s cooperation with the DPRK and Iran. Co-director of foreign policy and international security programs at the Razumkov Center Alexey Melnik told Channel 24, that this can be prevented through decisive action against Russia itself.

A clear coalition has already been formed

First of all, it is worth noting that Russia’s cooperation with these countries did not begin during a full-scale invasion. In particular, missiles in North Korea began to be produced using Soviet technologies.

In recent decades, the DPRK has seen significant progress in the development of these technologies. International expert investigations concluded that North Korea could not have achieved such progress on its own. Almost all of their tests were successful.

A thread has already been traced as to who was transferring technology in North Korea. Now Russia is apparently receiving gratitude from North Korea for the assistance that Russia previously provided. The situation with Iran is approximately the same,” noted Alexey Melnik.

Recall that Russia and Iran already have a formal agreement on circumventing international sanctions. Therefore, countries openly neglect and disregard the restrictions of Western countries.

“Now a clear coalition of three countries has formed that are helping each other. This is a question for the international community – do they have “political will to systematically approach the solution of the problem not only of the Russian-Ukrainian war. After all, both Iran and the DPRK are problems in themselves. A comprehensive solution is needed,” Melnik emphasized.

We need to take on Russia

“The Coalition of Evil” may be replenished with another country. We are talking about Belarus, which has been virtually completely subordinate to Russia for a long time.

I no longer see other strong players who could help Russia. Of course, there is also Venezuela, less than a dozen countries that consistently support Russia in UN votes. They could potentially become members of the coalition. But they practically do not have the same resources as Iran or the DPRK to support Russia, Melnik explained.

The expansion of the so-called “coalition of evil” is possible primarily thanks to the decision of the world, related to Russia.

“The states and our other partners clearly formulate how they see the future of Ukraine after the end of the war. There is no answer to the question of how they see the fate of Russia, and this critically important. Because it is impossible to achieve results in Ukraine without a clear formulation of the position towards Russia,” he concluded. Melnik.

In this case, the problems associated with North Korea and Iran will be much less. First of all, it’s worth starting with Russia.

Russia is supplied with missiles: what is known

  • The Wall Street Journal published an article on January 4 with comments from American officials who believe that ballistic missiles are being transferred to Russia. We are talking about negotiations between Russia and Iran, according to which ballistics may already be supplied to Moscow in the summer.
  • Moreover, the United States is concerned about Russia’s contracts with the DPRK. The publication claims that the aggressor country has already received ballistic missile launchers, as well as dozens of ballistic missiles, from North Korea.
  • In particular, Defense Express analysts draw attention to the fact that that the DPRK has an improved version of the Iskander. We are talking about the OTRK KN-23 missile.
