China confirmed that it stands for a sustainable and just peace in Ukraine, and also reaffirms the principle of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba spoke about this following negotiations with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Guangzhou.
Negotiations between the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and China
The minister said that he had a three-hour conversation with his Chinese counterpart, who called it “detailed and frank”.

— What is fundamentally important? China has unshakably confirmed its respect for the principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. It is very important. This removes a whole series of insinuations, — he says.
Dmitry Kuleba also said that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi “clearly said” that “agrees that it is not the illusion of peace that is needed , but we need a just and sustainable world“.
— This is what we should strive for. That is, there is no need to strive for any temporary solutions. Of course, I informed in detail about the Peace Formula, the Peace Summit, and our next steps. I explained using the example of history, using the example of today’s events, that, look: Ukraine did not cave in under any of Putin’s ultimatums, under Putin’s terrible military blow. And Ukraine will never bend one centimeter if anyone in the world, regardless of what part of the world, tries to speak to us in the language of an ultimatum. This is simply impossible, — says the Ukrainian Foreign Minister.
In particular, Minister Kuleba says that during the negotiations he focused on two principles that must be strictly observed — no agreements on Ukraine without Ukraine, as well as respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
— If these two principles are respected, we can take any conversation and seek any solutions, — he stated.
Ukraine — EU — China
The ministers also discussed “broader things”, says Kuleba, in particular, relations between China and Ukraine, taking into account the fact that in the future Ukraine will be a member of the European Union.
According to him, Ukrainian-Chinese relations “should already be viewed through this prism”.
— One can sense that China is keen to develop trade with Ukraine and, in general, to develop bilateral relations with Ukraine. There is enormous economic opportunity here. We want there to be closer relations between Ukrainian regions and Chinese regions, — stated the minister.
However, the peace process was the focus of all negotiations.
— We continue to talk with China, we continue to work with all the countries that took part in the Summit, the Peace Formula, which supported the joint communique, (countries, — Ed .) who are still considering joining the joint communique, — he said.
Recall that Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba arrived in China on a three-day visit, which began on July 23 and should end today, July 25.
