China responded to the Russian strike on the Dnieper Sergey Popovich

China has called for restraint after Russia's strike on the Dnieper River, which involved the use of a nuclear-capable ballistic missile. Beijing has called on all parties to “cool down the situation” and avoid further escalation.

China has called for a diplomatic solution to the situation. This was reported by Channel 24 with reference to CNN.

What is China's reaction to the Russian ballistic missile strike on the Dnieper?

China called on the parties to exercise restraint following the Russian intercontinental missile strike on the Dnieper.

All parties should maintain calm and restraint, promote dialogue and consultations to cool the situation, and create conditions for an early ceasefire and a political settlement of the crisis, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said at a press conference on Friday.

China also reiterated its official position, stressing the need for a political solution to the conflict to avoid further aggravation.

NATO has repeatedly accused China of strengthening Russia's defense complex. Beijing, for its part, denies this and claims that it strictly controls what is supplied to Russia.

Recall that Putin said that Russia struck targets in the Dnieper with the latest Oreshnik system. However, the Ukrainian military denies this and emphasizes that it was an intercontinental missile of the RS-26 Rubezh system, launched from the Astrakhan region. It poses a threat to the entire world, since it has a declared range of 6,000 kilometers.
