Recently, the German publication Der Spiegel reported that China and Russia are negotiating the sale of 100 strike drones for the war against Ukraine. The Chinese Foreign Ministry denied this information.
Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Speaker Wang Wenbin said that his country does not sell weapons to “conflict zones”. According to him, the Chinese authorities are taking a “responsible approach” to military exports.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Denies Allegations of Transfer of Drones
A day after a German publication claimed that Beijing was negotiating with Moscow on the supply of drones, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman denied this information. Wang Wenbin claims that this misinformation and China is very responsible for military exports.
China has always taken a prudent and responsible approach to military exports and does not sell weapons to areas of conflict or belligerents. I know that there has been a lot of misinformation about the Chinese side in this matter recently, and the intentions behind it should beware, Wang Wenbin said at a daily briefing.
Recall that Der Spiegel warned the day before that Russia may receive kamikaze drones from China in April. Currently, negotiations are allegedly underway between the parties.
According to the publication, Bingo agreed to manufacture and test 100 prototypes of ZT-180 drones. Such drones, according to experts, can carry a warhead from 35 to 50 kilograms.
China can use Russia for its own purposes
Political scientist Vladimir Fesenko believes that China perceives Russia as an additional resource in confrontation with the US. For example, it is known that the country buys oil and gas from the aggressors in large quantities and at a very good discount.
The expert explains that Russia's natural and military resources may be useful to the Chinese in the future. At the same time, a certain weakening of the aggressor country only plays into their hands, because the Kremlin is becoming more and more dependent on China in economic and political terms.
