China will face consequences for supporting Russia's all-out war against Ukraine unless it changes its policy.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this in an interview with BBC News.

Stoltenberg said Beijing is trying to achieve both results by supporting Russia's military efforts while at the same time trying to preserve relations with European allies.

According to the NATO Secretary General, such Chinese tactics will not work in the long term.
In response to a question about what NATO members can do about China's support for Russia, Jens Stoltenberg said that conversations about possible sanctions continue.
The Secretary General noted that China shares many technologies, in particular microelectronics, which are of key importance for Russia in the creation of missiles and weapons that the aggressor country uses in the war against Ukraine.
“At some point, we must consider certain economic measures if China does not change its behavior,” Stoltenberg emphasized.
We recall that Beijing is already under some sanctions for supporting Russia. In particular, last month the United States announced restrictions that will affect about 20 companies based in China and Hong Kong.
At the same time, China continues to protect its business with Russia. Therefore, China says it does not sell lethal weapons and is prudent in exporting dual-use goods in accordance with laws and regulations.
NATO Secretary General says Russia is becoming increasingly isolated on the world stage after it launched a full-scale war against Ukraine in 2022.
“Russia is now increasingly aligning itself with authoritarian leaders,” Stoltenberg said, listing Iran, Beijing and North Korea.
He recalled that North Korea sent artillery shells to Russia, and in return, Russia provided advanced technology for North Korea’s missile and nuclear programs.
– Thus North Korea is helping Russia wage an aggressive war against Ukraine, Jens Stoltenberg noted.
The full-scale war in Ukraine has been going on for 846 days.
