China is not interested in an alliance with Russia. At the same time, they don't want her to lose the war.

Alexander Kraev, an expert at the Council of Foreign Policy Ukrainian Prism, told Channel 24 about this. According to him, there are several factors proving that China is not going to form a powerful alliance with Russia.
China does not perceive Russia as a center of power in the region
According to Kraev, China most likely considers Russia to be just a regional player. They will not strongly support the infidels, because they understand that later they will have to pull out both themselves and their “friends”. However, China is ready to provide tacit assistance, which will more or less keep Russia afloat economically.
China is well aware that it is much better for them to build relations with the West. Kraev acknowledges that this path will be competitive and sometimes hostile. But China follows it: removes duties on goods, actively cooperates with the Americans. And he also closed long-term multibillion-dollar projects with the Russians. In particular, on liquefied gas.
In my opinion, China is interested in continuing the instability. This does not mean that he is interested in Russia as such, notes Kraev.
Recall that recently the CIA and the Japanese Defense Ministry stressed that the threat of a Chinese attack on Taiwan is extremely high. Previously, Beijing hinted at attempts to take the island by any means.
