According to the Taiwan Ministry of Defense, Chinese bombers, fighters and aircraft opposed to submarines joined the exercises.

In the past two years, Taiwan has complained about frequent Chinese military activities near it, concentrated mainly in the southern and southwestern parts of the island's Air Defense Identification Zone, or ADIZ, the publication said.

At the same time, Taiwan is also on conducted pre-announced missile exercises off its southern and southeastern coasts last week.

Taiwan fears China will do like Russia

Taiwan has raised the alarm after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The island nation fears that China will take such a step, although the Taipei government has given no indication that it will.
