China has recognized that the United States poses a major threat to the international order. This was stated by the spokesman for the country's Ministry of Defense Wu Qian, commenting on the Pentagon's report to the US Congress on China's military development and goals. The words of the diplomat are quoted by the Anadolu agency on Sunday, September 13.
“Years of experience have shown that it is the United States that is the instigator of regional unrest, the violator of international order and the destroyer of world peace,” Qian said. He recalled that over the past 20 years, US actions in Iraq, Syria, Libya and other countries have led to the death of nearly a million people.
The Pentagon report, in turn, Qian called “a senseless distortion” of China's goals.
The authors of the document noted the superiority of China in three military areas. The report notes that the PRC has overtaken the United States in the field of ground-based cruise and ballistic missiles. China possesses more than 1,250 missiles of this type with a range from 500 to 5.5 thousand kilometers. At the same time, the United States has only ground-based missiles with a range of 70 to 300 kilometers, since previously they could not create such weapons due to restrictions under the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty).
