An important EU-Ukraine municipal partnership forum took place in Wojnowice, Poland. Actually, the mayors of the Ukrainian, Polish and German communities founded 17 municipal partnerships, agreeing on real steps to improve the infrastructure of certain areas.
This forum is organized as part of the “Cities 4 Cities | United 4 Ukraine” initiative to develop the relations of our state with Europe, – reports Channel 24.
Which communities have concluded agreements among themselves
Note that during the event, representatives of Ukraine shared their experience on how to lead communities in a war .
We want to help create strong relationships between European cities and cities in Ukraine, as we are doing now. The Russian invasion gave a new impetus to our business. It forced us to change the focus of our work, namely to help the development of Ukraine. The more such events are held, the more they are aimed at cooperation. Therefore, we are working for the victory of Ukraine and the world, – also stated the Consul General of Ukraine in Wroclaw Yuriy Tokar.
As a result of the forum, it became known about 17 municipal partnerships between Ukrainian and European communities. In particular, we are talking about the following couples:
- Solonyanskaya community (Ukraine) and Gross Gerau (Germany);
- Chertkovskaya (Ukraine) and Baden Sod Salmunster (Germany);
- Okhtyrka (Ukraine) and Leszno (Poland);
- Rakitnyanskaya (Ukraine) and Berathausen (Germany);
- Gnivanska (Ukraine) and Talheim (Germany);
- Shyrokovskaya (Ukraine) and Stockelsdorf (Germany).

Pay attention! It is known that the Ukrainian side agreed with the allies to jointly solve problems, in particular with water supply, the development of local fire departments, police departments and beekeeping in our state.
Why municipal partnerships extremely important
Actually, this question was answered by the chairman of the community Hofstetten and board member of the network of young mayors in Germany. According to him, this can also be used to try to influence the decisions of politicians on the war in Ukraine.
We tell our communities how the mayors and cities of Ukraine live, what kind of support they need. This is a task for our politicians to receive first-hand information, so to speak, because we, in turn, communicate directly with our Ukrainian colleagues,” said Martin Assmuth.
Note that the organizers plan to hold a similar forum at the end of February at Sindelfinden in Germany. There will probably be more than 80 representatives of the Ukrainian and EU communities at this event.
