The head of Chechnya is a blackmailer, so when Putin weakens, he will certainly take advantage of this. For example, he can blackmail by using his armed forces, isolating Chechnya, distancing himself from the war in Ukraine.

In addition, he can initiate protest movements inside Chechnya that will oppose the Kremlin. Kadyrov will do everything to show how much Putin needs his help. He will make it clear that his support can either weaken or cease altogether, both in Chechnya itself and on the front line.

“If we take operational information, then representatives of the Caucasian peoples and even Chechnya itself are ready to rise up, and in some situations even speak out against Putin,” the army general added.
