Tense situation in Russia/Getty Images
In Russia, they are doing everything to convince the families of the victims of the cruiser “Moskva” to suppress the “tension”. Forced mobilization also exacerbates the situation in the aggressor country.
This is reported by the American analytical center Institute for the Study of War on June 7.
The Kremlin's efforts to censor information about dead military personnel and the ongoing forced mobilization in the DNR and LNR escalate tensions within the country and opposition to the war in Russia, writes ISW.
The families of those killed on the cruiser “Moskva” are being silenced
Ukraine's GUR reported that the Kremlin has instructed lawyers and psychologists to convince the families of the personnel of the sunken cruiser Moskva to refrain from disclosing any information about the death of their relatives. In this way, Russia wants to suppress “growing social tensions”.
If relatives do not follow the instructions and disclose information, the Kremlin threatens to cancel financial compensation for the death of their relatives on the cruiser. Some relatives refused to meet with the command of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol in protest.
Mobilization exacerbates tension in Russia and the “DNR”
Ukrainian media separately reported that the so-called DPR changed mobilization protocols and now promises compensation to the wounded and dead. The changes came as a result of unrest among “DPR” troops on the front line. The Kremlin will take new measures to avoid internal complaints from Russians. For the most part, they arise from ill-treatment and insufficient training of soldiers.
Thus, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that conscripts will learn to provide first aid on the battlefield in the summer.
The Institute believes that the Russian military is unlikely to properly train and equip Russian soldiers rushing to the front to replace them. The ex-Minister of Security of the so-called DNR, Alexander Khodakovsky, claimed that he asked the military command to take the exhausted and demoralized military to auxiliary tasks away from the clash. However, all efforts were in vain.
The Russian military decided on fictitious marriages to escape the war
- On June 7, the SBU published an intercepted conversation between a Russian soldier and his acquaintance. The occupier admits that the military is doing everything they can to escape from the war.
- They, in particular, ask their Russian girlfriends to apply to the registry office for marriage. Then the soldiers go to the commander and ask him to let them go, they say, because they are late for the wedding. But this does not work.
- The Russian soldier adds that they are allowed to return home only in three cases: injury, death of one's own or a close relative.
