The Security Service and the State Bureau of Investigation exposed the former head of one of the National Guard training centers for criminal activities. Now he holds the position of first deputy head of the RVA in the Lviv region.

It is indicated that while in the position of commander of a military unit of the National Guard, in April 2022, the official purchased 72 RGS-50 tanks for storing fuel at an artificially inflated cost with public funds.

Thus, the military unit purchased the corresponding tanks for almost 64.5 million UAH, although the market value of the tanks was 39.3 million UAH.
“Thus, the illegal activities of the defendant led to damage to the defense budget of Ukraine of more than UAH 25 million,” the report says.

According to the investigation, the official entered into this agreement despite the fact that several enterprises offered him more favorable conditions regarding the delivery time and the estimated cost of the RGS.
Based on the collected evidence, the official was informed of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 425 of the Criminal Code (negligent attitude towards military service, committed under martial law).
The issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is now being decided – detention. The perpetrator faces up to 8 years in prison.
The investigation continues to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring to justice those involved.
