Catastrophically lacking: Zhdanov named a super-important weapon for the current phase of the war

In the current phase of the war, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are sorely lacking super-important weapons. These are mines and mortars, which we do not see in aid packages.

This opinion was voiced by military expert Oleg Zhdanov.Channel 24.The issue of providing long-range missiles, but in this matter there are countries that are ready to provide us with them.

Mortars are sorely lacking

Zhdanov said that multi-purpose self-propelled mortars are very necessary in the current phase of the war. However, judging by the fact that we open the aid package every time and do not see mortars there. The maximum that is there is mines of 120 or 82 mm caliber to the Soviet mortars that we have in service.

This is a problem. Why our Minister of Defense does not pay attention to this is very hard to say. Perhaps the General Staff does not submit such an application, or perhaps someone thinks that such mortars are not particularly important to us. Our infantry, accordingly, pays at the cost of their lives for the absence of such a type of weapon as mortars, – the military expert noted.

Zhdanov named a super-important weapon for the current phase of the war: watch the video mortars, because they are on an armored basis, protected and more maneuverable to use. We are having difficult times. In the battles around Bakhmut, the enemy is successful precisely because we do not have time to simply “mow down” this infantry.

“It's just that physically we don't have time. Mortars are sorely lacking or mines to mortars. They are also sorely lacking, so I find it difficult to answer this question why the Ministry of Defense so ignores such a type of weapon as mortars,” Zhdanov said.
