Cash assistance in June: which Ukrainians can count on payments

Ukrainians who are internally displaced, or who have suffered as a result of a full-scale Russian invasion, can count on financial assistance from a number of international organizations.

Monetary assistance to Ukrainians in four regions

According to information from the Ministry for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, internally displaced persons in the Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Odessa and Kharkov regions can count on financial assistance.

Monetary assistance to Ukrainians is expected within the framework of the Ukrainian Reaction Consortium project, reports the charitable foundation Right to Zakhist.

The Response Consortium is coordinated by the French non-governmental organization ACTED with financial support from the USAID Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance (BHA).

Who is eligible to apply for assistance

Individuals or families who have not yet received such assistance from the Right to Protection fund, are currently not receiving it from international organizations and belong to one of the following categories of the population can apply:

  1. IDPs (from February 24, 2022) who live in the Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Odessa or Kharkov regions.
  2. Victims of hostilities (have housing that is damaged/destroyed as a result of hostilities, or a person who has been injured as a result of hostilities since February 24, 2022 and is not a participant in hostilities) in Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye , Odessa or Kharkov regions.

Conditions for receiving financial assistance:

Applicants for cash assistance must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • household which consists exclusively of a person or persons over 60 years of age;
  • household with three or more children;
  • household with a child under 2 years of age;
  • household with a pregnant woman;
  • household with a person having I or II disability groups.

What is the amount of assistance

Under this program, Ukrainians can count on payments in the amount of 3,600 UAH per person per month for a three-month period. That is, the total amount of assistance for each family member is 10,800 UAH.

Cash assistance will be paid in a lump sum for three months to each household member separately to his bank account provided upon registration.

Funds for minors and incapacitated/incompetent persons are received by their official representatives (parents, guardians, trustees, etc.) if they have the appropriate documents.

How to register for cash assistance

You need to register to receive financial assistance in person at special points — All family members must be present and have the following documents with them:

  • passport of a citizen of Ukraine or international passport;
  • tax number (identification code) of each household member;
  • birth certificate (for children under 14 years old);
  • a valid IBAN card of a Ukrainian bank for receiving payments (copy or photo of a certificate with IBAN account details). But not eSupport and eMalyatko cards. This must be a personal hryvnia account (not an individual entrepreneur), opened in any Ukrainian bank in Ukraine;
  • documents confirming membership in the vulnerability category (certificates, extracts, etc.).

Money assistance to Ukrainians from the UN

Forcibly displaced persons who suffered from hostilities in certain regions, as well as those who returned to their permanent place of residence (including from abroad) can apply.

The amount of cash assistance is 3600 UAH per person and is paid for three months. That is, the total amount for each family member — 10 800 UAH

Ukrainians can submit an application for financial assistance if:

  • the family has not previously received assistance from international organizations;
  • has an income of less than 5400 UAH per family member;
  • belongs to the following categories and has at least one of the vulnerability criteria:
  • displaced people (after February 24, 2022) and have vulnerabilities from the list below;
  • persons who did not move after February 24, 2022, but suffered from military operations in the following areas: Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa, Zaporozhye, Kharkov, Chernigov, Sumy, Nikolaev, Kherson, Donetsk; and have vulnerabilities from the list below;
  • people who returned to their places of permanent residence after forced relocation and have vulnerabilities from the list below.

List:

  • a family that has only one parent (or father or mother) with one or more children under 18 years of age or with persons over 55 years of age;
  • a family headed by one or more single elderly persons (55 years of age or older) or an elderly person with one child or several children under the age of 18;
  • families with one or more persons who have either a disability or chronic illness;
    foster families who care for unaccompanied and divorced children (documents required).

Required documents to receive financial assistance:

  • passport of a citizen of Ukraine, or foreign passport;
  • tax number (identification code);
  • birth certificate of children (if available);
  • bank card number for payment of assistance (eSupport cards are not suitable);
  • documents confirming the category of vulnerability (certificates, extracts, etc.);
  • personal phone number.

It is worth noting that all family members must be present when applying for financial assistance.

People with limited mobility can be registered by their family members if they have original documents and provide a medical certificate confirming their health status.

Method of paying cash assistance to Ukrainians

Cash assistance from the UN can be received through any Ukrainian bank, if the bank card is in hryvnia and belongs to the main applicant from the family.

The entire amount for three months will be immediately transferred to the head of the family, who will be determined during registration:

by transfer to a bank account through the financial institution Rapyd.

via Western Union for those families who do not have a bank account.

You will receive an SMS message with a bank transfer code (MTCN code), which, together with an identification document (passport, ID card, other government document), you must have with you to receive cash assistance at the branch Western Union.
