They are preparing for three major events that are scheduled to take place over the next 15 days.

So, on January 6, the US Congress will meet to approve the results of the presidential election.
The funeral of the late US President Jimmy Carter will begin with a ceremony and procession on January 7 and will end on January 9.
The third planned event is the inauguration of the newly elected US President Donald Trump, which will take place on January 20.
