Ukrainian defenders courageously resist the Russian enemy in all territories. The Armed Forces of Ukraine were not allowed to take the capital of Ukraine and continue to be ready for a probable offensive.

As it turned out, the occupiers had the task of “entering Kyiv in 2 days.” This was stated in an interview by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, Lyudmila Denisova, who spoke with Russian captives.

According to Denisova, the lieutenant colonel, who was once a participant in the Chechen war, and now led the service of special forces, said that he had been given a clear task. He must enter Kyiv in two days.

They tried to do this, but on February 25 they were ambushed, wounded and taken prisoner.

Another prisoner, a senior lieutenant, said that the commanders convinced them that they would be greeted with flowers in Ukraine.

But when they saw the resistance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they realized that the military and local residents would not give up. Then they decided to surrender themselves with the lieutenant, but did not have time, because they had already been taken prisoner, Denisova noted.

She also added that almost all prisoners say that they cannot return to their homeland because for persecution. They understand that they will be “caught up”.
