US Ambassador to Hungary David Pressman said that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban cannot consider himself a “peacemaker.” After all, now the head of the Hungarian government is demonstrating loyalty to the Russian regime.

Pressman made the corresponding statement after a meeting between the Prime Minister of Hungary and the Russian dictator in Moscow. In this context, Pressman recalled his comment on the previous meeting between Orbán and Putin in China.

Why Orbán is not really a “peacemaker”

“The leader of Hungary has decided to side with the man whose forces are responsible for crimes against humanity in Ukraine, and is alone among our Alliance members. While Russia strikes regarding the Ukrainian civilian population, Hungary is pleading for business agreements,” the US Ambassador stated.

According to him, as of today, this message may also concern Orban’s current meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, as well as nine visits to Russia by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó, who is also known as a pro-Russian diplomat.

This is not about “peace”, but about profit, and this is a huge harm to the Hungarians and Hungary’s relations with its allies. Until Orban insists that Putin end his brutal war on terms that respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, he is not a peacemaker, Pressman wrote on his social network page X.

< p>By the way, today Putin said that Russia allegedly “stands for the complete and final end of the conflict.” At the same time, the Kremlin notes that for this to happen, the Ukrainian Armed Forces must withdraw from the occupied regions and complains that Ukraine does not want a settlement to the war.
