Canada is preparing to transfer hundreds of modern drones to Ukraine and expands the program of military exercises

Canada continues to help Ukraine resist Russian aggression, in particular, it supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine with weapons. It is expected that in the near future Ottawa will decide on the transfer of drones to our state and expand the training program for combat medics.

According to the media, the government of Canada, headed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, is negotiating the supply of hundreds of high-tech drones to our state. At the same time, Kiev has repeatedly stated that such UAVs are the only product on the market that can satisfy almost all operational needs.

Why Canadian drones are better than Ukrainian ones

Actually, back in the summer of 2022, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko sent a letter to the Ministers of Defense and Finance of Canada. They referred to a request for the transfer of 300 Teledyne Flir R70 Skyranger drones manufactured in Ontario.

According to the official, tactical drones play a key role on the battlefield, and so far, unfortunately, Ukrainian UAVs are vulnerable to the means of electronic warfare used by Russia. As you know, our drones have limited capabilities, in particular, for use at night and in bad weather conditions.

At the same time, Canadian drones have built-in thermal imagers and have the ability to intercept signals and detect chemical weapons, which is essential for our defenders.

The ability of the R70 to intercept the signal will be especially useful, as it will allow the drone to detect the location of enemy phones and even identify faces, the National Post says.

In addition, it noted that in the near future a corresponding decision on the transfer of drones will be made in Canada. This assistance can be estimated at $115 million.

Expansion of the program of military exercises

On drones, Canada's assistance to Ukraine does not end there. The official statement of the government of the country dated March 7 states that Ottawa will continue the UNIFIER program until at least October 2023, which, in particular, provides for the training of military doctors of the Armed Forces of our state.

To this topic, let us recall that our military is extremely quickly mastering Western weapons and every day acquiring new skills in order to repulse the aggressor. By the way, not so long ago in the Kyiv region, for the first time, the teachings of military priests took place. As you know, they are forbidden to take up arms.
