Navalny's death in prison — what is known

On February 16, the local office of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) of the Russian Federation reported the unexpected death of Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny.

Official version of the colony leadership — A prisoner suffered a blood clot. However, Navalny's relatives, his supporters and international experts doubt that the oppositionist's death occurred naturally and they have repeatedly emphasized that he was killed deliberately.

Due to the fact that the body was not given to the mother for a long time, Lyudmila Navalnaya — only on the ninth day after death – it was impossible to conduct an independent examination of the true causes of the politician’s death.

Alexey Navalny was buried on March 1 at the Borisovskoye cemetery in the Maryino district of Moscow. Tens of thousands of people from all over Russia came to say goodbye to him, but his wife and two children were not present — For security reasons, the politician’s family left the Russian Federation at the beginning of a full-scale war with Ukraine.
