New Prime Minister British Minister Keir Starmer adheres to the position of the previous government regarding the Ukrainian Storm Shadows attacks on Russian territory. He stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces themselves decide how to use their missiles.

The British politician said this during a trip to the NATO summit in Washington on Tuesday, July 9, reports Bloomberg.

The missiles should “obviously be used in accordance with international humanitarian law, as you would expect. But Ukraine decides how to deploy them for these defense purposes,” he said.

Starmer added that Storm Shadows should be used “for defensive purposes.”

“Ukraine has said it needs to strike military targets inside Russia to defend itself and repel Russian attacks, and this is one of the main issues to be discussed at the NATO summit “, says the news agency website.

The new British Prime Minister also commented on the Russian missile attack on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital. Starmer said it was an “absolutely shocking, horrific attack” that created a “very important, albeit tragic, backdrop to this summit.”

“My message to President Putin is this: This NATO summit should be seen as a clear and united determination by NATO allies and others there to simultaneously support Ukraine and resist Russian aggression,” he noted.
