Can Putin declare war and mobilize against the backdrop of counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Yakovina's response

On September 9, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin called an emergency meeting of the Russian Security Council. Some suggest that due to the successful counter-offensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Botex dictator may decide to declare war and general mobilization.

But even such radical steps will not give the desired effect, but rather, on the contrary, will work against Russia. This opinion was expressed by the Russian opposition journalist Igor Yakovina on the stream of Channel 24.

There is simply no option to stop the war

The Russian also rejects the idea that the Security Council can discuss the possibility of stopping the war. Like, Vladimir Putin simply does not have such an option as a “white flag”.

He understands that the “white flag” will simultaneously turn into a white sheet, with which they will cover it – already in the morgue. He understands this very well, so there is no such option,” Igor Yakovina emphasized.

Reverse effect of mobilization

Also, according to Igor Yakovina, the option of declaring war on Ukraine in Russia is unlikely, which will immediately be followed by mass mobilization of the population.

“Its probability is not equal to zero, but very close to it. Why? Because if we now declare war and mobilization, it means that everything that has happened so far is stupidity and a mistake,” the journalist said.

In his opinion, such a step from Putin will be a de facto admission of his own mistake. Moreover, he drove himself into such a situation, because in Russia even people are thrown into prisons who say that there is a war going on, and not a “special operation”.

It is clear that the question conscience and the law do not belong to them. However, after the prison sentences, you yourself now admit that this is war. So who are you after that? – Igor Yakovina explained.

He is sure that this should penetrate into the public consciousness even among Russians. Like, propaganda can do a lot, but it is not omnipotent.

Russia is not Ukraine

In addition, the Russian journalist compared the situation in the two warring countries. He noted that Ukraine can arm a huge number of people, because there is a war for the existence of Ukraine itself.

“As for Russia, the Russians do not want to fight. Many support the war, applaud while drinking beer on the couch, but they want to fight units. After all, it’s not even clear why,” Yakovina explained.

According to him, every sofa warrior in Russia applauding “the victory of 20 paratroopers over 400 Ukrainians hand-to-hand,” still understands that the Russian military cannot die why.
