The Vice-President of the European Commission, as a lawyer, explained that despite the fact that Hungary cannot be deprived of its presidency of the European Union, other countries members can put pressure on Viktor Orbán differently.

We can boycott and openly show that we do not agree with Mr. Orbán’s policies, Jourová said.

She also noted that the EU is already gradually preparing for Poland's future presidency in 2025. Jourová also confirmed that, despite Orbán’s controversial position, he still will not be able to harm the European Union.

“The Hungarian presidency comes at a time when the Council will not accept no key decisions, since we are at the beginning of the legislative period of changing the mandates of the institutions,” explained the Vice-President of the European Commission.

• Politico journalists have a letter in which 63 members of the European Parliament demand that the EU leadership deprive Hungary of its right voices in the block. The reason for this is the actions of the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, which he did during his presidency of the European Union.
• MEPs sent their letter to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of the European Parliament Robert Metsola.
• It is worth noting that the letter itself was signed by members of the European Parliament from a number of countries and parliamentary groups. In particular from the European People's Party, Renew Europe and the Greens.
