Alexander Liev deals with the armed contracts of the Ministry of Defense. He works with Ukraine's partners who provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with modern weapons.
This was stated by the head of the board of the Anti-Corruption Action Center Vitaliy Shabunin. He noted that Liev was an official of the fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych.

What is Liev responsible
Shabunin said that Liev received the position of interim head of the department of military-technical policy, development of weapons and military equipment of the Ministry of Defense in the summer of 2022. That is, it depends on him what weapons or equipment and at what price Ukraine buys.
In addition, according to the chairman of the board of the pulp and paper mill, Liev has information about all foreign picking, the schedule of payments under contracts, the location of production facilities in Ukraine and delivery times.
Liev's department carries out multibillion-dollar contracts, despite Reznikov's fairy tales that weapons are purchased by a new defense procurement agency according to NATO standards. In addition, Liev, on behalf of the Ministry of Defense, is cooperating with international partners to equip the Armed Forces of Ukraine with modern weapons, Shabunin said.
He added that Liev is a native of Ukhta in Russia. Previously, during the presidency of Yanukovych, he was the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Shabunin noted that Liev called on Kyiv to “hear Crimea” and “legalize the referendum” for its status.

Shabunin recalled that in January 2006, Liev coordinated an exhibition of pickets and checkpoints near lighthouses, which, according to the distribution of the USSR Black Sea Fleet, should have belonged to Ukraine. However, they were illegally held by the Russian fleet. Pro-Russian activists prevented Ukrainian sailors from entering the territory of lighthouses in Bolshaya Yalta, Feodosia and near Genicheskoe.

MP from the “Servant of the People” Marianna Bezugla also spoke about Alexander Liev. She noted that Ukraine received risks with his appointment, so the deputy recommended that the Minister of Defense fire Liev a few months ago.

I think that all the “middle-level” specialists, the “institutional memory” of the ministry should be scrupulously analyzed.
