By the end of the year, the US Congress may finally approve a package of military assistance to Ukraine and Israel.

This was stated by Republican Senator from Oklahoma James Lankford.

In particular, he noted that significant changes in the US immigration system will become part of military assistance to Ukraine and Israel.

“We'll do this all together,” Lankford says.

The Biden administration has put forward a proposal to provide tens of billions of dollars to Israel and Ukraine for their respective combat efforts, as well as $14 billion for border security. GOP lawmakers have said the funds should be tied to changes in immigration policy, such as the asylum system.

“The most important thing is the ability to do it right,” Lankford said.

Let us recall that in October, US President Joe Biden submitted a request to Congress for $106 billion. It provided for the allocation of $61.3 billion for Ukraine within a year and about $14 billion for Israel.

But on November 2, the House of Representatives passed a bill providing $14.3 billion in aid to Israel. It does not contain funds for Ukraine.
