Iranian drones are quite dangerous weapons. They can both hit targets and divert air defenses to identify them and subsequently strike at positions or strategic targets using artillery, MLRS or missiles.
About this told former SBU officer, expert of the Ukrainian Institute for the Future Ivan Stupak. Earlier it was reported how the air force shot down a drone with which the enemy was going to attack Nikolaev.
There are different types of Iranian drones
Stupak noted that a few weeks ago, 3 Iranian military aircraft brought drones to Russia. Among them:
- kamikaze drones;
- drones that throw explosives at positions;
- reconnaissance drones.
Despite having been under sanctions for many years, Iran has been able to build a drone program that is not of the worst quality. According to some indicators, they can even outperform Bayraktar,” said a former SBU officer.
However, an expert from the Ukrainian Institute for the Future added that after shooting down these drones, the Armed Forces of Ukraine opened them and saw that they were made “on knees.” There are materials not from the factory mass production, but from what was at hand.
“However, we have already seen the consequences of their actions. They fly into the Odessa region, really explode seriously, carry a lot of explosives, cause a lot of harm,” he stressed.
Drones easy to detect
The former SBU officer continued that these drones are not launched manually, but from special trucks. They have something like a sea container with shelves, from where the drones take off.
They are loud, like a moped, that is, you can hear them. They are not too fast. There is a video where you can see that they are slowly flying away. So sometimes it is possible to shoot them down even with small arms,” the expert of the Ukrainian Institute of the Future emphasized.
The strategy of the Russians
According to him, the strategy of the Russians is clear. They will bombard our positions with a large number of drones to break through our air defense, find out where it is. They will force us to shoot down these small targets, and then they will launch their missiles at our positions.
“A drone that flew even directly for reconnaissance must be shot down. It outlined our positions, updated all the data. Therefore, through a few hours, or even earlier, cannon artillery, MLRS or missiles will arrive,” the former SBU officer summed up. .

Iranian drones: breaking news
- On the morning of September 25, a series of explosions were heard in Odessa. At that moment, eyewitnesses saw drones in the sky, which Russia is increasingly using on the territory of Ukraine.
- On the night of September 25-26, the Russian military once again attacked the Odessa region with kamikaze drones. Two enemy drones hit a military infrastructure facility.
- Russian infidels hid a control and training center for Iranian drone operators in Chulakovka near the Kinburn Spit. The Russians thought it was a hard-to-reach place, but the UAF got them even there.
