The attack on Kharkov is primarily an informational operation to sow chaos and panic inside Ukraine.
This was noted by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, during the broadcast of the national telethon Unified News.

– “There is no need to panic, since the main goal of this operation is informational, to create chaos and panic, backing this up with actions, as they say, on the ground,” notes the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
By intensifying efforts in the Kharkov direction, the Russian occupiers are trying to force the Defense Forces group to retreat in the eastern directions, so as to create the impression that the occupiers are beginning to encircle and cut them off.
However, notes Kirill Budanov, this is not so.
– Another task of the occupiers is to destabilize the situation inside Ukraine. But please: calm down, nothing bad is happening! – assures the head of the power steering.
At the moment, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate notes, the Russian Army has rather limited resources in the Kharkov direction, although the Russians have not yet thrown absolutely all their forces into battle.
– Let’s just say that all the forces that the Russians had in the border area are already involved. Next they will need to introduce reserves. I think that in the coming days the Russian Federation will use them, predicts Kirill Budanov.
At the same time, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate considers experts’ talk about the Russian Federation’s alleged plans to create a “buffer zone” frivolous.
– And where do the Russians make these “buffer zones”? In two separate directions? And between them as with “ ;buffer zone” to be? And to the right, to the left of the “buffer zone”? – Kirill Budanov asks rhetorical questions.
Recall that on May 10 a new wave of attack on Kharkov began.
On that day, the invaders intensified shelling in the north of the region and attempted to break through the defense line.
