“Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be fun”: political scientist assesses the start of Trump's presidency Anzhelika Galesevich

A week has passed since the inauguration of US President Donald Trump. During this time, many decisions have been made, but no plan for settling the war in Ukraine has been presented.

Political scientist Oleg Lesnoy told Channel 24 that Trump wants to receive the Nobel Prize for his peacekeeping activities in Ukraine. Therefore, it is worth getting ready, interesting events await ahead.

Why Trump will not “dump” Ukraine

The political scientist believes that the Trump administration continues to actively work on developing a peace plan for the Russian-Ukrainian war. Ukraine is mentioned very often, that is, for the US President the Ukrainian issue is not a passing one, as it seemed earlier.

There is a readiness to enter into dialogue with Putin. There is no readiness to “drain” Ukraine, no matter how much someone would like to write in their media, – noted Oleg Lesnoy.

According to him, Trump's psychotype has long been calculated. He cannot be a loser, therefore, in the issue of Ukraine, he must become a peacemaker. He himself spoke about this in his first speech as president. The political scientist suggests that Trump wants to go down in history as the one who will receive the Nobel Prize for his peacekeeping actions.

If you proceed from the emotional component, and not a rational approach, then it is very difficult to analyze it. The only thing I can advise everyone is: buckle up, it's going to be a lot of fun, Lesnoy summed up.

Recall that the US Citizenship and Immigration Service has temporarily suspended the U4U program for Ukrainian refugees.

USAID has also suspended funding for all of its programs worldwide, including in Ukraine. The reason is a 90-day audit by the State Department.
