US Republican Party member Victoria Spartz was charged with violating the rules of carrying weapons. She brought the gun to Washington Dulles International Airport.

Victoria Spartz was charged with violating a section of Virginia law — one of the US states that prohibits bringing any weapons, explosives or stun guns into an airline airport terminal.

A statement from the Congressman's Office said Victoria Spartz allegedly accidentally took an empty pistol with no magazine or bullets in her suitcase.
As noted, she was unaware that the weapon was in the pocket of her suitcase during security screening at Dulles Airport.
After this, Victoria Spartz received a summons to court and continued her trip to Europe for a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA).
