As of late October 2023, large elements of Wagner's private military company have likely been assimilated into the Russian Guard command structure and have resumed active recruiting.

This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defense.

It is indicated that this unit of Wagnerites within the Russian Guard is probably headed by Pavel Prigozhin, the son of the late owner of Wagner Evgeniy Prigozhin.

Other groups of PMC fighters most likely joined another Russian PMC, Redut, which, according to an investigation by Radio Liberty, now numbers 7,000 people.

On November 1, 2023, the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced that the doctors of the Wagner group became part of the Chechen special forces Akhmat. Earlier, on October 25, Kadyrov stated that 170 former Wagner mercenaries had already joined Akhmat.

“After the mutiny in July 2023 and the subsequent death of Wagner’s leadership in August 2023, the Russian state exercises more direct control over the activities of the PMC and its former personnel,” British intelligence emphasizes.

Earlier, the commander of the 3rd assault brigade, founder of Azov and ex-people's deputy Andrei Biletsky spoke about the tactics of the Wagnerites in the Bakhmut direction.
