The first will be positive for him, Putin will be able to “breathe out” because of the problems that the country has because of the war, the second will be the end for him. This opinion was expressed to Channel 24 by retired British Army Colonel Gamish de Bretton-Gordon, noting that peace should be on favorable terms for Ukraine.

Putin's fate after the ceasefire

A British Army colonel suggested that a ceasefire on the front line in Ukraine could in some way save Putin, since the Russian occupiers and Russians in the aggressor country are in a difficult situation, and the Kremlin has many problems due to the war.

However, at the same time, it could also lead to the death of the Russian dictator.

Frankly speaking, we in the West really don't care what happens to Putin. We care about what's happening in Ukraine, and we want to see peace as quickly as possible, he stressed.

A British Army colonel added that Russia's war against Ukraine could continue for some time.

“However, no one wants to see more civilian or military casualties than is necessary to ensure the best-case scenario, which would be peace – a ceasefire and an exchange of territory on terms favorable to the people of Ukraine,” he added.

By the way, US Army veteran and OSINT analyst Ryan McBeth expressed the opinion that Putin cannot stop the war because of the risk of losing power. If the war is stopped in the near future and the soldiers are recalled, the Ukrainian lines will be completely frozen, and a certain number of soldiers will remain there.
