Shmyhal added that this agreement also provides funds for the organization of repair bases for military equipment and other weapons.

According to the Prime Minister, such bases will also be located in Ukraine.

Denys Shmyhal noted that thanks to these funds, Ukraine will strengthen its defense capability and thanked Great Britain for its support.

Consequently, as explained by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk, the bill proposes to ratify the Framework Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on official credit support for the development of Ukraine's defense capabilities.

According to Melnychuk, the ratification of the Framework Agreement by the Verkhovna Rada will allow the implementation of the domestic procedure related to the entry into force of the above-mentioned agreements. And this, in turn, will allow the launch and implementation of joint projects to develop air defense projects, maintaining military equipment in working order by organizing its repair and maintenance in Ukraine.

Thus, the ratification of this agreement will facilitate military-technical cooperation between Ukraine, Great Britain and Northern Ireland by providing Ukraine with preferential loans to finance projects to supply air defense systems and missiles for them. As well as other projects in the direction of organizing the repair of weapons and military equipment in Ukraine for a total of up to 2 billion pounds sterling.

Recall that on July 19, Ukraine and Great Britain signed a loan agreement for 2 billion pounds to finance the defense needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
