Blockade of borders with Ukraine: Polish carriers were dissuaded

by alex

The Ukrainian government does not stop the dialogue with Poland to prevent new actions by farmers against the export of Ukrainian grain.

Today, Kyiv managed to fulfill its part of the agreements, after which Polish carriers abandoned protests on the Ukrainian border, where they went on strike next to the farmers.

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Sergei Derkach, the press service of the department reports.

“We kept our word and fulfilled everything we promised. My colleague Pavel Ganzazh assured that our Polish partners are doing everything in their power to prevent the carriers from renewing their protest. Issues that have not yet been resolved are the area of responsibility of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland, — the official indicated.

He added that Ukraine, despite all the difficulties, continues to fulfill its obligations to international partners, supplying food to those continents where they are most needed.

— 90% of all Ukrainian agricultural products are exported via the Black Sea. Ukraine's role in the issue of global food security is very important. This is especially true for grain exports to African and Asian countries, — designated by Derkach.

Blockade of the Ukrainian border

February 12 in the Polish village of Dorogusk, located near the Ukrainian-Polish border, farmers from Poland emptied grain from Ukrainian trucks. At the same time, Polish protesters blocked a number of checkpoints.

During this time, the protesters managed to commit an absolutely blatant act of vandalism four times in the conditions of a full-scale war — they poured Ukrainian grain onto the ground, exposing it to spoilage.

After this, President Vladimir Zelensky called on Polish President Andrzej Duda for dialogue over the large-scale blockade of the border and assistance in resolving this issue.

The head of the Ukrainian government, Denis Shmygal, even arrived at one of the Polish checkpoints along with a delegation to hold negotiations with his colleagues from Warsaw. But Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the meeting only for March 28.
