The sanctioned Metropolitan of the Luhansk Diocese of the UOC MP Vasyl Povoroznyuk, who collaborates with the occupiers in the VOT, was sentenced in absentia to 11 years of imprisonment.

The court found the metropolitan guilty under Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (aiding an aggressor state), and additionally ordered that he be deprived of the right to hold any positions in religious organizations for a period of 13 years.
By court order, all property belonging to the cleric will be confiscated and transferred to the state.

We are talking about two apartments, one of which is in the Boryspil district of the Kyiv region, the other in the Luhansk region, as well as a private house in the Vinnytsia region.
Among the confiscated items were two of the convicted man’s cars, including a Toyota Land Cruiser 200.
Metropolitan of the UOC MP Povoroznyuk was one of the first in the Luhansk region to publicly support the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.
According to the case, in September 2022, he was in the Kremlin at the ceremony of the so-called annexation of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.
In addition, in May of the same year, the cleric spread Russian narratives during a roundtable in Lugansk led by Gauleiter Pasechnik, which was widely covered by Kremlin media.
In interviews with Russian propagandists, he repeatedly called for the continuation of the war against Ukraine and the seizure of new territories.
Since the convicted person is hiding in the Luhansk region, comprehensive measures are ongoing to bring him to justice.
