How drones attacked a substation in the Belgorod region

The moment of the explosion at the substation in Stary Oskol, explained in the Russian telegram -channel.

According to Russian media, a powerful explosion was heard in the area of ​​the village of Neznamovo, Starooskolsky district, Belgorod region, where the substations are located.

The sounds of explosions were heard at approximately 2:00 on July 1. After that, several more explosions were heard.

The Russian publication clarified that the Russians tried in vain to shoot down the drones that attacked the substation with small arms. It is this shooting that is heard in the published footage.

Subsequently, another video was published online, which also shows a flash and detonation at a substation in the Stary Oskol urban district.

By the way, the authorities promise to return electricity to people before 1 p.m. on July 1. As of 10:52, the Russians did not have working traffic lights, there were problems with water, the Internet and buses.

In the area of ​​the drone attack – two largest electrical substations

In one of the Russian telegram channels, they wrote that explosions occurred in Stary Oskol, where the two largest ones in the Belgorod region are located electrical substations. In particular, it refers to:

• 750 kilowatt substation “Metallurgicheskaya” with a capacity of 3,650 megavolt-amperes (MVA) – the largest in the Belgorod region and one of the largest in Europe;
• substation “Stary Oskol”, which has a capacity of 1,930 megavolt-amperes (MVA).

The Russians stated that both power facilities are included in the power distribution schemes of the Kursk and Novovoronezh nuclear power plants and provide communication between the Kursk and Voronezh energy systems.
