The blackout in the Czech Republic on July 4 left a significant part of Prague and several regions of the country without power.

Prague's energy company Pražská energetika reported that power was cut off in the city centre, Sprožilov and South Town districts due to an accident at a substation in the Chodov district.

Parts of the Central Bohemian, Ústí nad Labem and Liberec regions were also left without electricity.
According to the system operator ČEPS, most of the power lines were left without voltage. The blackout affected a significant part of the Liberec Region, where electricity was missing in five cities in the region.
A major blackout in Prague has stopped the metro and trams, and firefighters are rescuing people stuck in elevators.
There are a large number of reports of smoke filling buildings due to diesel generators being turned on, the Prague Fire Department press service reported.
Czech Railways reported that trains were not running between Prague and Kolin and Benešov u Prahy, and between Kolin and Kutná Hora. Trams were stopped in Liberec.
Around 13:00 local time, metro and some tram services on the right bank of the Vltava River were resumed. Tram services on the left bank of the river were fully resumed.
Repairs to the emergency substation are currently underway, but power engineers are not reporting the exact duration of the restoration work.
