Czechs and Slovaks raised money to buy a Black Hawk helicopter for Ukraine / Collage 24 Channel

In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, funds were collected for military assistance to Ukraine from concerned citizens. So, in one week we managed to collect more than 400 thousand euros.

The organizers of the initiative Darek pro Putina (Gift for Putin – Channel 24) spoke about this on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter. Now the collected funds will be used to purchase a helicopter for the Ukrainian army, Channel 24 reports.

Czechs and Slovaks assembled on Black Hawk for Ukraine

On November 16, the organizers of the Dárek pro Putina initiative announced the start of a fundraising campaign aimed at purchasing a universal American UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter for Ukraine. The goal is to raise €4,291,766 to purchase one of Europe's scarce privately owned Black Hawk helicopters.

In the end, within one week the Czechs and Slovaks managed to collect more than 400 thousand euros. However, those who are not going to stop at this goal in the initiative will not stop. The organizers also thanked everyone who took part in fundraising.

What is known about the Black Hawk helicopter

  • The Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk was developed by the American company Sikorsky Aircraft in the mid-1970s. Founded in the United States by Ukrainian aircraft designer Igor Sikorsky in the early 20th century, the company has a long history of aviation innovation.
  • In 1979, the UH-60 Black Hawk was officially adopted by the US Army. So far it is actively used both in the United States and in Europe, but for private purposes.
  • Designed for a variety of purposes, the Black Hawk helicopter is primarily used to transport personnel and various military cargo. It also plays a crucial role in the evacuation of casualties and the transport of large cargo.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Region already has one Black Hawk helicopter

  • Ukrainian intelligence stated that they are actively using the UH-60A Black Hawk helicopter. In particular, about 6 million US dollars were previously collected for its acquisition.
  • Subsequently, the Main Intelligence Directorate showed how they conduct training on these helicopters. The department noted that they practiced landing combat groups on the battlefield, evacuation, landing from airborne cables, as well as night flights.
  • Intelligence also noted that it is significantly superior to the Soviet Mi-8 and Mi-24 in almost all characteristics. At the same time, they emphasized that the next target after the Black Hawk would be F-16 aircraft.
